UMD Dietetic Intern Attends 2016 White House Easter Egg Roll

April 11, 2016

On Monday, March 28th the First Family hosted the 138th Annual White House Easter Egg Roll on the White House Lawn.  Meredith Dillon, a UMD Dietetic Intern, was given the opportunity to attend with the USDA’s Center for Nutrition Policy and Promotion (CNPP).  As an intern at CNPP, Meredith was also given the opportunity to help prepare materials and games in the week prior to the event.

Along with lots of fun and sunshine, Meredith educated children about the five food groups using several fun activities and prizes. CNPP hosted a food group “trivia wheel” game that was very popular with all children in attendance. CNPP also provided educational materials to many of the 35,000 guests including children, parents, and teachers.

Meredith was up close and personal to the White House and even got a picture with USDA Team Nutrition’s Power Panther.  Visit the internship blogsite - http://bit.ly/1RZBYxI.
