Improving Food Safety, Diet, and Health

The two major areas included in the Nutrition and Food Science Extension program are Nutrition and Food Safety. We have three extension specialists in our Department, Drs. Mark Kantor, Martin Lo, and Mira Mehta. They develop, implement and evaluate outreach education programs targeted to consumers, agricultural workers, and small businesses. The specialists also help support local programs conducted by county extension educators throughout the state.
