The NFSC department and the USDA Food Safety Information Center are pleased to announce an exciting internship opportunity for our students beginning with Fall 2008. If you are interested in an internship experience involvingfood safety that will lead to course credit (NFSC386), you should consider applying for the USDA internship. Here are the steps involved:
- Apply for the Internship
- Deadline for the application is August 31.
- If selected by USDA FSIC for the internship, youmust register for NFSC 386 Experiential Learning for either 3 or 4 credits ineither the Fall or Spring semester. Contact the department for the section number. Time commitment is 6 hours for 3 credits and 8 hours for 4 credits. FSIC will complete the selection process soon after the April 30 deadline. If selected for an internship in Spring 2009, you will register for NFSC386 at your normal registration time during the fall.
- A grade for the internship will be assigned based on:
- 1) an evaluation of the intern by FSIC
- 2) a report on the internship experiencewritten by the intern for the department. The report will be due one week prior to finals.
